Let's learn more about Ultraviolet Bridal Co.'s journey, present offerings, future endeavors, + more. Q+A style. Keep reading.
1. How did UBC come to be? Were other brand names considered? If yes, what were they?
"Ultraviolet Bridal Co. was inspired by the song "Ultraviolet" from Spiritbox’s Fear of Fear album. The song explores themes of hidden struggles and inner strength—much like ultraviolet light, which is unseen but incredibly powerful. That idea resonated with me deeply, as I see a parallel in the brides I work with: they each have their own layers, stories, and battles that aren’t always visible on the surface. Just like in the song, my goal with Ultraviolet Bridal Co. is to help brides embrace those hidden parts of themselves, stepping into their day with confidence and individuality, free from the expectations of tradition.
We also took inspiration from other music and elements outside of music that reflect my personal journey, but Ultraviolet felt like a destined fit. I wanted the name to not only reflect my style and influences but also create a space where every bride could connect with me and feel understood."
2. What sets UBC apart from other bridal makeup artists?
"Our commitment to celebrating diversity and individuality sets us apart. Our motto, “where defiance meets elegance,” isn’t just a tagline—it’s how we approach every client. Whether it’s bold, alternative looks or timeless elegance, our goal is to empower each person to feel like their absolute best self as they walk down the aisle. We’re not just providing hair and makeup services; we’re delivering an experience.
Ultraviolet Bridal Co. brings the fun. From the perfect playlist to comedic relief when wedding-day nerves hit, we’re more than stylists—we’re your extra support, your hype team, and your energy boosters. We’re all about creating a comfortable, uplifting space where you feel celebrated, seen, and ready to own your day. We're “girls’ girls” who lift each other up, making your wedding morning a celebration, not just a prep session. Our focus on diversity and personalization means no matter who you are, we’re here to make sure you feel truly empowered and ready to step into your moment."
3. How does music influence you and your work?
"Music has always been my constant, whether I was going through the hardest times or the happiest moments in life. It’s been my escape, my saving grace, and my inspiration. During tough moments, I turn to songs from my favorite artists to get me through, and in better times, those same tracks made me feel even more alive. Music is my lifeline, and that’s what fuels my creativity.
When I’m working on a bridal look, it’s like creating a song—there’s a rhythm and emotion to it. The music I have on repeat, like Spiritbox’s “Ultraviolet” or Poppy’s genre-bending tracks, shapes how I see color, texture, and the overall vibe I want to create. Every bride is unique, just like every song, and I draw on music to bring out their individuality in the way that feels most authentic to them.
Music isn’t just an inspiration for me; it’s part of the experience I share with my clients. Whether we’re listening to playlists during prep or letting a song set the tone for the day, it adds an extra layer of connection and fun."

4. Which artist inspires you the most? What’s your favorite song from them?
"The artist who inspires me the most is Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox. She’s a pioneer in a male-dominated industry, and her ability to blend clean and heavy vocals so seamlessly is incredible. My favorite song by them is "Circle with Me"—it perfectly captures the balance between vulnerability and intensity, which resonates with me both personally and creatively.
Beyond Spiritbox, other bands and songs have become my go-to lifelines are "I Was Alive" by Beartooth, "Foolish Believer" by Broadside, "If I’m There" by Bad Omens, "Sympathy" by Too Close to Touch, as well as "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls -these are always on repeat for me. I know that last one might seem out of place to some, but it’s one of those songs that hits on a deep, nostalgic level. These songs have gotten me through everything—whether it’s pushing through hard times or amplifying the good moments. Welcome to my brain!"
5. Do you have a favorite style of bridal makeup? If yes, can you describe it?
"I don’t have a favorite style of bridal makeup—I truly love it all. What I do live for, though, is the final reveal. That moment when a bride sees their complete look for the first time and falls in love with it—that feeling never gets old. It’s priceless, and knowing that I played a part in helping them feel that way is something I’ll never be able to fully describe."

6. What’s your preference: Pencil/gel or liquid eyeliner?
"I’m a pencil girlie all the way. The versatility of a pencil is unmatched. I can manipulate it in so many ways, whether I’m going for a sharp line or something more smudged and smoky. With a little Duraline, I can transform it into a gel-like texture for that sleek, defined look. Or, I can smudge it out for that perfect smoky kohl vibe. Pencil is like the classic tool in the shed—it can do it all. Unlike gel, which can be limiting, pencil gives you control to adapt and change the look depending on the mood or style you’re going for. Whether it’s clean or messy, dramatic or soft, pencil eyeliner is always my go-to."
7. What’s your preference: Lipstick or a liquid lip?
"I’m a lipstick fan through and through. There’s something timeless and classic about it that liquid lip just can’t replicate. I love the versatility—using Duraline, I can easily turn a lipstick into a liquid, but it still holds onto that iconic feel. Plus, I have this nostalgic connection to lipstick. Growing up, I remember watching my older sister apply her lipstick, thinking it was the coolest thing ever.
Lipstick has this elegance—it’s "that girl." A woman with the perfect shade of lipstick can do anything, it’s like she could end wars with just a swipe. It’s also way more adaptable than liquid lips. You can dab it for a soft, blotted effect or layer it for full impact. And unlike liquid lip, you can adjust it on the go without worrying about it drying too fast. For me, lipstick is the ultimate power move."
8. Do you have a team? How do each of them help support you and UBC?
"Yes, I have an incredible team of five, including myself, at Ultraviolet Bridal Co., and we’re in the process of onboarding three more, bringing us up to a team of eight. Every member is highly skilled in both hair and makeup. Currently, we have four lead artists and one assistant, all working together to create a seamless experience for our brides. I personally train every team member, making sure they have the support and confidence they need to be successful.
More than just being a team, we’re a family. I would do anything for them. We’ve built a bond that goes beyond just work—we genuinely care about each other and have each other’s backs. As a leader, I believe in leading by example. I’m always right there with them, knee to knee, toe to toe, never asking them to do anything I wouldn’t do myself. It’s important to me that they feel empowered, supported, and part of something bigger."

9. Are you willing to travel for makeup bookings?
"Yes, with our expansion into Southern California, we’re officially a company that serves both Northern and Southern California—and beyond! We’re always excited to travel to bring our artistry to brides wherever they need us."
